My top 10 Avengers rosters

The Great Lakes Avengers! These heroes protect the United States/ Canadian border from threats no other hero could stand against!

  • Batwing has been a hero for a while now, and he and his bestfriend Butterball are ready for the big leagues after membership in both the Initiative and the Avengers Academy. They don’t get along with Deadpool, but then again who does?
  • Butterball has been rejected by practically every group of heroes he’s encountered. He has a bestfriend in Batwing, a fellow misfit, and they were overjoyed when they were so welcomed by a team of Avengers!
  • Living Lightning turned down membership to the GLA when they first asked, mistaking them for the Gays and Lesbians Alliance, but now that Flatman has come out it’s a different story. Living Lightning and Flatman have started a relationship together.
  • Flatman is second-in-command to Mister Immortal. He is a founding member of the team and is extremely happy with the recruits that they’ve been getting lately, especially Living Lightning and except Deadpool.
  • Mister Immortal is the leader of the team, and he couldn’t be happier the abundant number of recruits the team has been getting. He loves being able to be a mentor to the two young heroes Butterball and Batwing.
  • Doorman is a founding member of the team and he is surprised at the number of recruits the team has gotten as of late. Doorman is around less and less since Deadpool joined, though. His responsibilities as an Angel of Death have increased alot.
  • Big Bertha decided to give Deadpool a shot and they have an awkward, superficial relationship. She pretends to be more disgusted by his antics than she really is.
  • Deadpool is only around to torture Mister Immortal and sleep with Big Bertha. He loves playing practical jokes on his teammates, and it’s very easy with Squirrel Girl hanging in New York.
  • Fabian Stankowicz is an outcast from the Avengers, but his genius in developing robots can’t be ignored. Since joining the team he has developed an army of Grasshopper robots to help the team in dire situations. Each Grasshopper robot is programmed to self destruct mere moments after activation.

The New Avengers! This team battles the foes that are closer to the streets, they resolve gang wars, or fight organized crime.

  • Hellstrom invited himself to the team when Jessica offered Hellcat her spot on the team. He wants to try and save their already damned marriage, but his front to Cage is that the team will need a “Magic Avenger” with Strange gone. He makes a point to insult D-Man whenever possible, much to the other New Avengers chagrin.
  • Hellcat was offered Jessica Jones spot on the team when she left to focus on parenting. She was outwardly annoyed when Daimon decided that he was joining as well, but secretly flattered. She won’t admit it, but she is also hopeful that her marriage can be reconciled.
  • Squirrel Girl took over the Thing’s role when he went back to the Fantastic Four. He jokingly remarked that she would be the team’s new powerhouse with him gone. Squirrel Girl has a crush on Daredevil and she is trying to prove herself worthy to be an Avenger (and his girlfriend) She bonds with D-Man as a misfit.
  • Iron Fist is Luke Cage’s bestfriend. He sees that Luke is going through a rough patch in his marriage and he is standing by his friend in his time of need. Behind-the-scenes Iron Fist is trying to talk Jessica back into moving in the mansion, or trying to talk Luke into moving in with Jessica. They’re both too stubborn to budge.
  • Luke Cage leads the New Avengers. Luke loves being a super hero, but the real reason he continues to do it is so that one day his daughter will be proud. Jessica moved out of the Mansion with his daughter and Luke is just too damn stubborn to try and fix his marriage, even with Iron Fist doing all he can to help.
  • Shroud is an undercover New Avenger. He doesn’t appear with them publicly, and he rarely appears with them at all privately. He tips them off on happenings in the criminal underworld so that they can take it down.
  • Falcon is buddies with Luke Cage and that is the main reason he joined the team. That and the guilt of abandoning D-Man when he needed friends the most, Falcon is there to keep his friend out of depression and inspire him to fight the good fight.
  • D-Man is possibly the most tragic Avenger ever, he went crazy and depressed and because his friends weren’t there for him he was manipulated into fighting them. Luke Cage offered him a spot on the New Avengers to get himself going down the right path again, and it helps to make a new friend like Squirrel Girl.
  • Daredevil is on the team because he has a good friendship with the former Heroes-For-Hire. He is also there to help D-Man stay on track, he knows he was D-Man’s original inspiration into the hero-biz and he is there to make him proud of that decision.

Avengers Academy! The place up and coming heroes go to to learn how to better themselves as heroes.
These is the regular staff at the Academy, but there are still guest teachers.
Also, I’m not posting students, because students could be any under-trained hero that wants to better themselves.

  • Doctor Druid teaches students about magic as well as the mind. He teaches the students that are using magic how to better themselves with it and he teaches those that don’t use magic how to defend against it.
  • She-Hulk is there to teach students to control their anger, but also she is there to teach them the basics of what they should do to apprehend their foes and she teaches them to not act outside of the law.
  • Gauntlet serves the same purpose that he did in the Initiative, he is a drill sergeant plain-and-simple. He runs the combat simulations, but thanks to Pym’s technologies they are far safer than those at Camp Hammond.
  • Quicksilver is there to teach students not to go down the wrong path, he wants them to realize the difference between the heroic path and the villainous one. He never wants any of the students to be manipulated the ways he and his sister were.
  • Giant-Man is the headmaster of the school and he operates it solely  to avoid the unnecessary loss of life. He is very much a pacifist, but he isn’t naive enough to believe that the students aren’t going to face violence.
  • Tigra is the headmistress of the school. She wants the students to realize that there can be a balance between super heroics and a family life, her parenthood is very much a part of her teachings to the students.
  • Spider-Man is there for many purposes, he teaches the students that great power comes with great responsibility. He helps teach the more tech-based heroes how to improve their technology and offers them a position at the Future Foundation if they’re ready.
  • Shang-Chi teaches martial arts and basic fighting techniques to every student. He wants to make sure that if any of them ever find themselves without their powers that they can still hold their own against an enemy.
  • Terrence Ward, formerly Trauma, serves as a counselor to the students. He is a trusted confidante to all, including the rest of the staff.

The Illuminati! Steve Rogers formed his own Cabal, but it’s only a secret to the public. Each member of the Illuminati is an Avengers team leader. Steve Rogers leads the group, though.
They meet once monthly to discuss matters at hand, and any member of the group can call an emergency meeting.
If any member is unable to continue as team leader, they have a second-in-command waiting.

  • Mister Immortal represents the Great Lakes Avengers.
    Flatman is second-in-command.
  • Major Victory represents the cosmic team, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
    Captain Britain is second-in-command.
  • Cage represents the New Avengers.
    Iron Fist is second-in-command.
  • Captain Marvel represents the Avengers.
    Thor is second-in-command.
  • Steve Rogers leads the board and represents the Mighty Avengers.
    Iron Man is second-in-command.
  • Hawkeye represents the West Coast Avengers.
    Photon is second-in-command.
  • Mockingbird represents the Secret Avengers.
    Black Widow is second-in-command.
  • Giant-Man represents the Avengers Academy.
    Tigra is second-in-command.
  • Mach-V represents the Dark Avengers.
    Ares is second-in-command.

The Mighty Avengers! This team goes wherever they’re needed, they are the standing authority to all of the teams.

  • Scarlet Witch is still seeking redemption for disassembling to the Avengers and for wiping out the mutants. After her falling out with the Vision, ‘Witch thought it would be a good idea to join a different team of Avengers. She has a very, very rocky relationship with Storm and Hulk loves to give her a hard time.
  • Storm is the elemental for the team as well as their “Goddess” she is one of the team’s powerhouses. Her marriage with the Black Panther is very strained and she is trying to reconcile it by spending more time with him. However her disdain for the Scarlet Witch is counterproductive in this regard.
  • Black Panther feels it is time for him to once again join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest. He gets to spend alot of time with his allies and once more gets to be with his wife, although her relationship with the Scarlet Witch bothers him.
  • Iron Man is a founding Avenger and is Steve Rogers’ best friend. He  and Panther are the team geniuses and they work together to develop new technology for the team, i.e. Hulk’s weaponry, or Quinjets.
  • Steve Rogers is the leader of all of the Avengers teams. He is the world’s “top cop” and as such he feels it is more professional for him to not represent a single country. He handpicked each Avenger for the team and he is the mentor for Patriot. He inspires Scarlet Witch and the others to fight the good fight.
  • Hulk is in an interesting position, he is field leader if Rogers’ isn’t on a mission and as such is sort of a “third-in-command” if such a thing existed here. Hulk and Rick Jones have a sort of uneasy relationship, but they work past it.
  • Rick Jones is the founding Avenger, he put the team together. Rogers picked him so that they could have a human perspective on things, and a different outlook on what to do. Rick Jones also unknowingly still possesses the Destiny Force.
  • Patriot had given up on heroics after he inadvertently gave Dr. Doom more power than imaginable. Steve wants Patriot to get back in the game and is acting as his mentor. Patriot also looks up to Rick Jones alot because of the lack of powers, something Patriot could relate to at the beginning of his career.
  • Strange is no longer the Sorcerer Supreme, but he is still the leading authority in the magical realm. He is there to help the Scarlet Witch regain control of her powers as well, and serves as an almost father figure to the girl.
  • Jarvis also serves as the man-servant to this team, although he is not pictured. He provides moral support to the team, and has a special bond with each member of the team.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! This team goes out to deal with cosmic threats so they don’t ever come into contact with Earth!

  • Starfox is in Heaven with all of these women hanging around for him to seduce. Instantly comes into conflict with Swordsman for his passes at Magdalene.
  • Gilgamesh is a powerhouse from the Eternals, and he wishes to truly remember his time with the Avengers and Sersi promised to remind him if he came along with her.
  • Sersi having regained her memories wanted to become an Avenger once more, so she went off with this cosmic team. Finds the conflict between Captain Britain and Major Victory amusing, enjoys Captain Britain  even more.
  • Captain Britain feels very uncomfortable here, his connection to Otherworld being the only reason he is invited to this group from the beginning. He feels like he should be leading, but Major Victory refuses to give him that honor. He also feels uncomfortable with the way Sersi flirts with him, for he is a happily married man.
  • Major Victory is the leader of this group for he has gathered a lot of cosmic experience in his days. He wishes to protect Earth from the threats that would make our world his world in the future.
  • Mantis, the Celestial Madonna is there because space is where she is destined to be. She feels a real attraction to Major Victory, but feels herself being seduced by Starfox’s “charm.”
  • Deathcry isn’t the least bit interested in Starfox, not that it bothers him too much. She is too violent for his taste. Deathcry is out searching for a way to bring back Captain Marvel the way he did for her in the Chaos War.
  • Magdalene is a powerful member of the Gatherers and is in a relationship with the Swordsman. She doesn’t really appreciate Starfox’s advances, but his powers are such that it doesn’t matter.
  • Swordsman is there to be with Magdalene, and he’s glad he came along too! He instantly holds disdain for Starfox and wishes for the moment to come where they can trade blows.

The West Coast Avengers! These heroes protect the western half of the United States from threats no other hero could stand against!

  • Vision wants to get to know his sons and sees Clint’s West Coast Avengers team as a great way to bond with them. Speed lives at the compound when he’s not doing Secret Avengers work and Wiccan lives on the grounds. Vision forms a bond with fellow Avenger, Machine Man.
  • Wiccan loves the oppurtunity to be a hero again, and he gets to do it alongside family. Wiccan and Hulkling share a room at the compound, he gets to know his father and he sees Speed during the downtime. Although, his relationship with his father is awkward and uncomfortable due to his fallen ally, the Vision.
  • Hulkling never wanted the Young Avengers to disband, so he feels right at home in the action. He’s the team powerhouse, as well. He has an awkward relationship with the Vision, because of his lost teammate as well as the whole “android father-in-law” thing.
  • Scott Lang takes up the Ant-Man mantle once more after Eric’s demise is revealed. He hangs around Hawkeye and Vision because they all share the Disassembled death experience, and being around Wiccan and Hulkling he gets to hold on to a part of Cassie.
  • Hawkeye retakes leadership of the West Coast Avengers and, similarly to it’s founding, brings his significant other in for the fun. He already has a bond with most of the members, having been a long standing Avenger and leadership is nothing new for him.
  • Spider-Woman came along for the ride, being in a relationship with Clint means she gains the perks of dating a leader. However, she feels uncomfortable and as if she is just a rebound girl from Mockingbird. Her insecurities would eventually boil over in a big way.
  • Namor has dual membership with the X-Men, who also happen to live on the West Coast. Namor forms a friendship with Hulkling, due to his respect for Hulkling’s power. Clashes with Hawkeye for leadership and makes flirtatious passes at both Spider-Woman and Photon.
  • Photon is there for some respect, something she received little of when she was a member of Nextwave. She brought along her teammate, and former Wacko, Machine Man for the ride.
  • Machine Man is a former member of the Wackos anyway so when Photon decided to join it was sort of a “why not” situation. He becomes friends with fellow machine and Avenger: Vision.

The Dark Avengers! Three heroes were appointed to help reform some former allies and mold past villains into heroes. They are unknowingly sent on mostly suicide missions.

  • Ragnarok is just angry about everything, and by Odin’s beard he isn’t afraid to let it be known. Clashes with Ares and Back Goliath, allies himself with Trickshot.
  • Trickshot just wants revenge at his brother and if it means he has to play nice for a while with the “Avengers” he’ll do it. Similarly to his brother he has an annoyance with the armored leader of the team.
  • Daken wants to work towards reform but he doesn’t even realize it. Continues his uneasy alliance with Ares.
  • Wasp was discovered by the Secret Avengers under Hawkeye’s leadership, but rescued under Mockingbird’s. She is fighting with the Deathlok programming to be the hero that she once was.
  • Ares has returned from “the afterlife” and wants to atone for his sins while working for Osborn, and he sees reshaping these Dark Avengers as a good way to start. Doesn’t appreciate Ragnarok’s existence and sees it as disrespect for Thor.
  • Mach-V wants to prove himself to be an official Avenger like Songbird, but is secretly insecure and feels he will amount to as much as Atlas. Tries to impress Wasp with his leadership skills, but she is concerned with regaining her humanity rather than him.
  • Atlas was tired of not being A-List so he joined up with Wonder Man. While he is still skeptical of the Avengers, he respects his friend Mach-V enough to give it a shot. Doesn’t like Trickshot’s disrespect for Mach-V.
  • Black Goliath joined the team to take a shot at Ragnarok for murdering his uncle. Didn’t realize the bad blood that he’d have with Trickshot as well, but his intellect makes him a friend with Mach-V, while the common enemy and the feeling of loss earns him companionship from Ares.
  • Century heard about the reformation of the West Coast Avengers team and realized the error of Wonder Man’s ways, he seeks to join the team but first he must prove himself worthy.

The Secret Avengers! This team takes care of threats before they can become threats, and they do so permanently and under the radar.

  • Agent Venom feels right at home in the black ops styled Secret Avengers, especially with a particular blonde goddess sending her flirtatious passes his way. However, the symbiote and Sandman have bad blood and tempers run high between the two, even during missions.
  • Valkyrie is a warrior and thus isn’t concerned with killing in the field, this is why she is so particularly suited for this team of Avengers. Having Agent Venom around doesn’t hurt either.
  • Hardball is just a young man seeking redemption for all the bad things he did early in his career, even if not too many people know he’s doing it. He keeps his super hero-ing a secret to all of his fellow Initiative cadets. The fact that he feels out of place put him in a perfect position for an uneasy half friendship with the Sandman.
  • Black Widow was an obvious choice for commander. Or so it seemed, but Hawkeye passed the team onto Mockingbird instead, making Black Widow second-in-command. There is a small rivalry between the two, even a bit of unprofessional, almost out-of-character, jealousy.
  • Mockingbird, she was passed the shtick of leader by her ex-husband Clint Barton. In becoming leader she, unknowingly, made an enemy with the Black Widow.
  • Ronin made enemies before she was even on the team. Putting on the Ronin armor was a big red flag for the Black Widow to have mistrust for her. She yearns to prove herself to the Black Widow, because she doesn’t like Mockingbird anymore than the Widow does. ‘Bird replaced Ronin on the New Avengers and also separated her from Clint.
  • Sandman is only their to make Keemia proud. Even though he is part of the Secret Avengers, Steve Rogers still publicly pardoned him for his crimes and personally told Keemia about what a hero her father was. However, Sandman has an intense dislike for the Venom symbiote for poisoning him years before. As well as the hots for Ronin.
  • Protector is the tech-guy for the Secret Avengers, he is incredibly useful in the field as well. He is incredibly awkward otherwise, though, and therefore his only friend is the juvenile, Speed.
  • Speed didn’t attempt to hide his disdain for the Young Avengers disassembling, nor did he pretend that causing havoc wasn’t his thing. Speed is only used in times of dire circumstances. Steve Rogers was highly against his inclusion whatsoever, but he takes after his uncle and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
